A Quick Question In Relation To Cambelt Change Interval..2.0D4D

Hello to all...When i bought this motor (2.0d4d.. 1cdftv engine) it had only done 39,000 odd miles on an 06 plate which was genuine and serviced by dealers with all the stamps in the book,i even phoned them up to verify this mileage and it came up trumps. The car is on 42,000 odd miles now

What i'm asking though?..Would you change the cambelt now bearing in mind its no where near the 60,000 advisory to renew...

Or should i wait till it has covered the 60,000 miles and then swap out.

I'm no expert, but believe that most recommend an early change for belts which have served a long life of short journeys.....about a days job (1st time around) at home ... might be worth the piece of mind.

Change the belt if the age limit is reached regardless of the low mileage.

That's what I have done with my car. It is on it's forth belt.
