Hello all

Quick question.

Is there any way at all to get that lovely superchaged sound of a bov when you havent got a turbo? (!Removed! insurance on a turbo nearly made me have a heart attack)

I have just a standard MR2 2.0i Jap Import (MKII Rev 1)

Many thanks

Paul

my advice would be, you don't want the 'psssht' sound of a turbo;

because,

a) you don't have a turbo

B) you're going to look silly when someone in a souped up golf beats you

c) don't be such a poser :P

just wait a year or 2 when you have a good NCB status then go for the mr2 turbo if you still fancy it :)

no offence but thos speaker things are stupid,

was out on the weekend and heard this loud "pshhhhht". Looked around expecting an scooby, tubby, cossie maybe even the local turbod integra. All that could be seen was a naff green H reg rover 214

yes, i agree with above...

Why try and make people think your car is something its not..?

Once people realise your car isnt turbo'd, you'll look an idiot..

Better to embrace what you are... than pretend to be something your not!

sorry, double post.. but i'll comment again :)

Those turbo Speakers are tacky, no doubt.

I'm from the schooling that states it's better to have a car that's faster than people expect... to have a car that's slower than they anticipated.

(i'm talking about sleepers by the way)

im confused but i agree with the numerous multiple posts already mentioned  :P

the NA is a great car to drive and you dont need to have the psssssst sound to enjoy it, especially when you find out what the car can do at just below its limits.

He he

Ok, i get the picture gang :D

I`ll just spend my money on a Mongoose Exhaust system, Induction Kit and Wheels.

Any other mods that are an "essential" ? :D

that sounds bugger all like a dump valve, sounds more like a window shattering into a thousand pieces.

why get a sound associated with a turbo when you've not got one and make yourself look stupid?

Bibbs... how have you got your twin bovs hooked up ?? How does that work then ? You would think one would vent all the air, hence none left for the second.

curious.

The BOV hose at the moment just connects to one .. and the other is not connected .. I'm going to T into this hose and connect the other.

You could just add a solenoid so you could use one or the other and have a switch inside the car ..

Funny you should say that tho mate. my girlfreind just blew up the engine in her 214.. as its a K series, the K turbo out of the rover coupe swaps in very easily as all the mounts and gearbox bellhousing is the same.. few pipes and an ecu swap and it'll work.....

However I decided her drivings back enough with her whatever it is lawnmower engine, so ordered another one of those instead.

!Removed! rovers!

she wants an mr2 next
