Snap. It's good for some uses, but if you're losing 10% or more, then that equates to £'s lost. If that is significant, being a Yorkshireman I'd rather plug it in and save £50 a year.

But for taxis, or carparks where vandalism may occur etc, then it's an option for sure.

Saves pulling away with the plug still in. lol

A switch to detect if the plug was still plugged into the car would be simpler and more energy efficient.

I thought you couldn't drive if the charger was still attached. Or is that just if it's still charging?

It doesn't need to be charging. If the plug is attached you can't drive it.
