Exposed Socket

Could anyone tell me on my Celica t sport 03 what the exposed socket is iv just come across. It's next to the lever that you pull the bonnet with. It's open and is a white electrical socket about 2 inches wide?

Hi Simon, just ignore it and leave it alone. If your vehicle goes to a Toyota dealer for service/repairs it's where they plug their box of tricks in to self diagnose what the vehicle has been up to as there vehicle stores up fault codes if something starts to go wrong...tells the dealer how to fix it if you like!
