Fuel Sender Unit - How To Remove Blue Sleeve Casing?

ive managed to get a replacement fuel sender unit as the original one bizarrely snapped at the petrol output connect (see below) any tips of easily getting the blue sleeve off so i can drop the new one in? i assume its a counter clockwise thread but cant see any obvious easy way of doing it:
