Sorry to hear about you car problems Jimlad, unfortunately it's just one of those things, as cars get older, stuff breaks..... Not sure about the head gasket being the problem, it just doesn't all add up. Do you have a dump valve fitted? Mine used to stall the car because it vented to atmos - however, if you have been running till now without issues it probably isn't that.... could be a vaccume leak, or something electrical i.e a sensor......

I'll let you know what the garage says tomorrow.

He said if he took the rad cap off once pressure had built up the car ran fine. But once the cap was back on and pressure was allowed to build up again it started to do it again.

So he thought it was the HG. He's gonna do more tests on Tuesday tho like I said. Soon find out.

This will not affect my yellow paint job/big turbo job Jappy.... might effect my new seats tho... Grrrr !

Jim, let me talk to you sensibly. The car will be off the road for a week, engine will come apart, NOW is the time for the 2.2 stroker kit, JE forged pistons, TTE con rods, 272 cam shafts, shimlesss bucket conversion. This will give you the ability to rev to 10,000 rpm and with that big turbo about 600bhp. Go on take on jeffery at extreme boost !!!!! :D

that's what i meant about spending the money u have for a respray on the engine instead pal, (albeit u'll have to add a teeny weeny more mullah :)).

Just think how cool a 10k engine would be... rotory's and type r's eat ur heart out!

I'm thinking more and more about the 450BHP HKS turbo transplant jobby.

I know people say 350 to 400bhp max... or car will be undrivable... oh well.... will be fun tho.

May have to invest in some racelogic traction control.

it is true that all that power wont be too drivable. however...

if u get a new engine managment system then u can have different settings for different occasions.

in effect u can run a de-tuned car for city, then crank the power back up for drags, or the occasional blat of private road testing.

You should see them all on my black mesh in the bumper. Quite bad !!

Glad I've got a new one coming soon tho.

As for the 450bhp... undrivebale in what sense ?

Surely if you take it easy, it will be fine.

1 hour to go and I'll find out what is up with the motor

aw11's are prone for blowing head gaskets but not supposedly ours.

i would look for another solution (maybe electrical) as mentioned.

unless u are losing compression and/or loadsa coolant or oil i cant see it being head gasket.
