Hello All,

what is the easiest method to get mp3 player/smartphone connectivity for playing music through? I have attached a picture of the kind of radio I have in my avensis. But I am also thinking of upgrading the radio to something with bluetooth capability! So if this is the easiest way that would help me along the path of deciding!!

I find the easiest method bluetooth but without changing the head unit you could use an FM sender as they sell for silly money now...

Have a look here:

Thanks but I just don't like those. Too untidy, I would prefer changing the head unit. How easy is it to change to a headunit something like this one:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/JVC-KW-AV71BTE-Receiver-Touchscreen-Bluetooth/dp/B00BAUQW38/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1394489998&sr=1-2

Is it easy to get a facia to suit a double din hu?

Thanks For that. Will any double din facia fit any double din headunit?

Look at this thread regarding adding accessories to the existing stereos. http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/142715-avensis-car-stereo-changeover/page-2

That way you can listen to music from memory sticks via USB or cards, and bluetooth if supplied. Connects2, Xcarlink and Yatours supply these devices.

That way you keep the steering controls. Some owners like to retain this function.

The other option is to go your way and change the stereo and facia adapter.

I am not keen on FM transmitters, but that is down to personal choice.

Search the forum for more ideas. I think you already have good ideas.

Have you got an audio jack socket? That's the way I listen to mine in the Yaris.

No I can't find one in the car anyway. As far as I know there is not an aux in on the back of the radio either so I don't think this is an option!
