Tow Bar For 2009 Avensis Estate

I'm looking for a detachable tow bar for my 2009 Avensis Estate and wondered if any one has any experience to pass on. There are numerous makes for sale on eBay at various prices and my inclination is to stick with a well known brand like Thule or Witter

to avoid any fitting problems, which a fitter I spoke to said he had had problems with generic tow bars not aligning properly. I may fit the tow bar myself but would definitely get the electrics done professionally as mistakes could be expensive.

Any suggestions much appreciated

Iirc they also mention who is the oem manufacturer for Toyota.

I put a Witter on mine and it was a perfect fit, no problem at all.

Thanks to all who responded, much appreciated. In the end I bought a Thule which had a very impressive build quality and compared with others I had looked at and seemed good value at £168 delivered. I then had the tow bar and electrics fitted by a local specialist who supplied the electrics and made an excellent job. There is nothing visible from behind when the tow bar is not fitted and the light socket folds up out of sight. so I'm happy. I would recommend the firm who fitted it as being very good - Wesbroom Engineering of Colchester who also manufacture trailers ( No connection apart from being a satisfied customer)

Where did you get it from seems a good price.

Hi Andy, bought it on eBay as a buy it now - it was despatched direct from Thule. Seller has re-listed it, link below. Good seller, ordered it on Sunday was delivered Tuesday although it said 3 - 5 days on the listing
