What Mileage Has Your Cvt Done (Any Hi Mileage Cars Out There?)

Just wondering about the longevity / reliability of the CVT box....I have searched and not found any real problems, but it could be no one has done any real miles!

Come on guys, spill the beans!

Mine has done a paltry 17 k ...

Modern CVT boxes are much more reliable than those of the older DAF/VOLVO "Variomatic" CVT's

The old boxes used rubberised belts whereas the modern CVT uses a more reliable and robust multi element steel belt combined with more advanced control systems

I did 20000 miles with my CVT Verso S with no problems an have done 8000 with the CVT Yaris Trend

I do not expect to have any problems! :)

Now 3 years 7 months and 26k. Gearbox is great and no problems with it so far, still as smooth and responsive as when purchased.

I have an Avensis 1.8 CVT with 58000 miles no problems up to now and works like a dream. I,ve read about a Prius Taxi (CVT gearbox) with 300,000 miles on the clock , hope mine last that long. It will outlast me if it dose.

Hope mine gives no trouble as its the only thing I am really concerned about!
