Auris 2.0 D4D Gearbox Oil Top Up & Drain Plug.

Hello people does anybody have any idea if the Auris 2.0 D4D has a Topup & or Drain Plug on the Gearbox at all & if so where ???

If you look on the passenger side front just behind the tyre on the ramp.. You will see two knots.. Loosen the first 1 and if oil leaks out of it.. No need for a top up.. If no oil leaks out.. I suggest get gear oil changed.. I presume it takes 1.6 litres.

SAE 75w mono grade oil, do not use 75w90 multigrade as this cause poor gear shift.

Just use genuine toyota oil.. You only going to probably change gear oil once ever and it only costs around £30 from Toyota.

Update: Auris 2.0 d4d requires 2.6ltrs for gear oil.

Auris 1.6 MMT requires 1.6ltrs

I wondered if anyone had changed their g/box oil. Looked in the book it says 4 yrs/40000m it needs changing?

If your car has trouble going into 1st or reverse gears easily (freely).. Most likely will need doing.
