I've just passed my 52 plate D4D to my sister. It's gone from father to son (me) and now sister and it's never broken down or failed to start first time and has never failed an MOT on anything other than Wiper Blades or foggy headlights. It's now got 108k on it and ready to go for another decade.

I do love the Mk1 D4Ds - IMHO some of the best cars Toyota ever made! As long as it gets regular oil changes, it'll basically run forever! It was made before all the emissions control gear that's on modern diesels killed the reliability, but also has modern diesel tech like common rail injection, so it's got nearly the reliability of an old diesel with nearly the performance of a new one! Best of both worlds!  

If it wasn't for that scumbag Sadiq Khan I'd still have mine...
