I notice theres lots of issues around cleaning the EGR valve on the SR/T180 engine...Is there a by pass available? A friend has a Golf GTD and said they work great on that engine...

From what I've been told after asking the same question it will put a light up on the dash and will cause a EGR air flow error....whether this will put it into limp mode I don't know. They also mentioned that it can cause other issues like blocking the DPNF filter..
