Corolla Compressor 3 Weeks In...

Ok, so having owned the Compressor for 3 weeks now (and loving it) I have only one niggle left to deal with; when touching the accelerator at pretty much any speed, even really lightly, there is a very audible squeak/ping noise which is very high pitched coming from the engine bay. Sounds like a valve or something similar pinging open. Does anyone have any idea what this might be and how to resolve it? Any feedback would be gratefully received. Many thanks!

Alright mate, this is normal. it is the supercharger engaging.

mine has done it ever since I've had it and I believe they all make this noise.

Must be a noisy supercharger clutch, glad it's normal though! Thanks for your reply. All the best, Tom.

One final question, at what mileage should the supercharger belt be replaced?

It's the same belt for all the auxiliary items such as alternator etc.

I would recommend doing every three years but as per all aux belts they do wear.

When changing check your alternator fixings as this is also something that can go wrong on these cars.
