Warning Lights For Parking Brake And Asc

My problem is that I started my 09 Avensis TR 1.8 CVT in a car park about 10 minutes after parking it and when I did warning lights on the display showed the engine symbol and advised checking the parking brake and the ASC function. this continued to show up for the next 30 miles or so with several stops and starts but just as I neared home they disappeared and have not recurred. Is this something to worry about - it has occurred once before and resolved it's self. It has only done 29K from new so hopefully nothing is worn out.

Should I take to the dealer for a check up - difficult if symptoms not showing - or is this a common problem of no great significance? Any advice much appreciated.

Derek

It's very rarely the actual handbrake, more likely the egr valve a bit dirty & a good motorway drive usually clears it.

I had those warning lights randomly appear on my previous Avensis Tourer 2009. They would come on and go out after the engine was turned off. After it happening a few times, I put it down to it happening within a few days of me stalling the engine. Somehow, the computer rememberer the engine had stalled and a few days later displayed warning lights.
