Help Required To Select Comfortable Shocks

Hi guys please can anybody help?

I have a back injury, so it is paramount to me that I have a
soft comfortable ride in my old car, a Toyota
corolla.

I have replaced the original leaking shocks, with KYB excel
shocks, which I was told would be original equipment, but sadly the ride is now very hard and choppy, my lovely old comfortable car is ruined and the soft ride has gone.

Could you please suggest any brands / models of shocks that
have soft and comfortable

Ride characteristics?

Would really appreciate any help so that I can drive again.

Big thank you.

Hi,

As I understand things the original rolla shocks are Oil filled ones, hence your 'leaking' ones.

Looking at that KYB site their shocks , though stating OE quality, are Gas filled.

To show the difference have a look at this short video.

I'm sure Toyota will sell you their original quiality ones, at a price, but expect you can soon find some decent oil filled ones if you shop around.

Later - seems there are very few oil filled ones around, wonder what type Toyota supply ?

They say the gas ones are pressured to equal the original ride quality ? - perhaps you have got a sportier type, also the newness of the shocks are bound to make the ride seem firmer over your old worn ones which will have given very little support against the springs.

Seems you can get the gas filled ones in two types, comfort or sport pressures, or as adjustable ones.

Thanks for all your comments,

I think I will give monroe shocks a go, I have had a few people say they are comfortable compared with kyb.

I find Marksh and Shpencers shocks to be very comfortable!

Sorry - probably not the most helpful reply......
