Hi,

I need to get a new near side lamp unit and the local Mr T has quoted the princely sum of approx £250,wow!......could anyone recommend a cheaper option please?

New aftermarket headlight units are available on eBay for £60 ish.

Has anybody here actually bought any of these aftermarket units please?After doing a bit of research some say the quality/fitting can be an issue?

Also I have seen a couple of YouTube vids describing how to fit the unit,it seems fairly straightforward?...famous last words!

personally I would buy a used headlight from a breakers or eBay rather than a copy. would rather not have the hassle of not lining up

if buying used make your all mounting brackets are intact.

what year is your avensis 2003-2006 are slightly different to 2006+

I've gotta say I agree and I'd always go to a breakers or genuine new / secondhand rather than a copy. A lot of pattern parts are good copies but Its rare to find an exact copy :)

Funnily enough the service advisor at my local Mr T. said the same thing about the pattern parts,but £250 is a bit prohibitive.

Defo, I would not pay £250!!! Call a scrappy or check out eBay :)

reflectors for headlights bulbs are prone to lose their chrome and emit poor light beam so I personally wouldn't get a second hand unit.

if I mind right there is a service for sending lights away to get opened up and this reflector replaced or plastic rechromed

this is info off top of my head

anybody know of this or a link about it?

as my headlights are a bit garbage in the dark

might be time to get this done
