I had a similar issue with my Mk1 D4D; I found boosting the front tyre pressures a bit helped make it wear more evenly, but you may need to experiment a bit as it will vary a bit depending on the tyres and driving style.

Welcome to Toyota Owners Club.

A bit more information wouldn't go amiss. From the original post, you mention having a new tyre - so is it just one front tyre that is showing heavy wear (and if so which side), or both front tyres?

just the nearside they offered to put a new tyre on at normal price offside is wearing ok they said that their £12000 set up couldn't be wrong and that alignment was ok

I'd get a specialist alignment done. Not sure that the best equipment will work if set up by someone who doesn't know what they are at! BTW, did they give a print-out of the settings, front/rear, before and after alignment?

whats the difference between the 2 tyres? also n/s/f normally wear very slightly quicker than o/s/f

tyre could probably do another 6000 miles if it wasnt for outside edge being bald o/s tyre wearing evenly pressures correct
