Rear Disc Brakes From Yaris?

Seen that some people are saying it's possible to fit the rear discs from the Yaris onto the Mk 1 Aygo.

Why am I looking? I plan to have the TTS supercharger conversion done, and want to uprate the brakes first. I've already done the fronts with Nitrac drilled & groooved discs plus EBC Greenstuff pads - now I'd like to get the rear brakes sorted too.

I was thinking of talking to ToyodaTech near WIckham, but they gone bankrupt due to falling trade. Any alternative suggestion for a Toyota specialist tuner near Southampton welcomed.

See you've had 56 views and no answer :(....take a look at this link its from the C1 owners club's site, may give you the help you are asking for :)

http://www.c1oc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4945

That link mostly discussed the situation where no power upgrade is planned as per this comment - "rear discs would not cause locking due to ABS but unless you increased the cars performance, there would be no point in it as the drums are easily up to the job in hand".

However, there was a suggestion to look at the rear axle from an IQ which I'll have to follow-up.

While looking into the IQ rear discs I noticed that the 1NR-FE engine versions of the IQ use the EE63 gearbox, anyone know if this will fit the 1KR-FE engine to replace the standard EE53 gearbox?

Why do I ask? Because I can use 5th down below 30mph in town and the Aygo/107/C1 always feels under-geared to me especially on the motorways, so the extra (higher) 6th gear would be really useful IMHO (the other 5 ratios and reverse are the same).

Why don't you be the pioneer and do it with a detailed write up and a you tube video to match.

I have an Aygo mk1 so Id love to do all these mods but to be honest while my car was at toyota for a new key I sat in aygo mk2 and for all the hassle to put lipstick on a pig Id rather just pay for a aygo mk2 tdi and sup it up.

"Lipstick on a pig"?

Personally, I like the quirky pre facelift Mk 1 shape!

It's funny how taste or 'aesthetic appreciation' changes.

I first became vaguely aware of the S1 Lotus Elise in about 1996 when it launched, but only from a photo of the front of the car, from the launch. Didn't think much beyond "Weirdass glued together aluminium chassis...wait for the recalls!"

Then the facelifted S2 came out, and I thought "That looks much sharper, less retro styled, nice!"

Then in 2007 I got a tuned S1 111S, loved it, and started understanding its merits compared to the S2 The S1 is slightly quirky, it's a fair bit lighter, and now my thinking has done a 180° flip, and to me the original design is "the Original" and the S2 looks dated, heavy, and I much prefer the purity of the S1

I think it's going the same way with the Aygo, for me,at least.

Bootiful......and this is before lowering and widening!
