yes. no point increasing boost if theres no extra fuel going in.

Do you have a boost gauge, or a diagnostics device - able to reset fault codes ?

i've got a boost gauge kicking about somewhere from when i used to mess about with my old fiesta 1400 derv.. and for code reading/resetting i use a wifi OBD reader with iPhone app. very useful tool.

Well I have a tuning box and a boost gauge fitted so then if I fit this should boost better then it boosts more anyway with the tuning box

3-5 psi depend on what setting - I would try dpf and m/h (medium to high) and compare - ESPECIALLY if you can reset fault code.

BTW on the high setting I think the dpf sensed the heat readings were out of range so you can see your on the edge of whats possible - think the iHI turbo is very strong.

In 4th gear on gd pull it would peak at 20 psi without the box with good fuel with the box I'm getting 22 psi regardless where the fuel is from and it seems not to matter how much I'm tool with the throttle it's peaked at just over 23 psi after doing some cleaning work and new air filter so maybe a a little thing like this could be handy .... Is it a plug and play system or does it need wiring in

Smudge and others - I think it should be said if your device only increases fuel then automatically this will increase boost as more fuel is being burned and more gases hit the turbo compressor 'fan'

Oh I know that anyway more burn more pressure ... Sure fire to blow up a crap turbo but if you just have a kit that ups the fuel the car will run slightly rich when being given a boot full SO having something that increase the air into the system should (in theory but not always the case) increase effiecncy on the fuelling front helping produce more power and a clean and efficient burn also helps turbo pressure and life as it hasn't got to fight the thicker smoke as it burns better generally I would do an injectors upgrade for turbo cars but no injector upgrades for the Auris ( yet ) these are all things I generally do when tuning and modifying engines same as I normally change the intake hose from the airbox to turbo or intake manifold

What type of tuning device do you have?

To answer the original question - how much power/ torque do you need on public roads.

200bhp and 300 lb ft is plenty - I remember driving an escort rs turbo in the late 1980'2 and thought it was quite fast and I think it had 130bhp - much lighter though

I had a late 80s escort rd turbo Yh it weighed 700 and something kg half the weight of an Auris

and were you thinking about using the digibooster with the pro box?

Yes that's my thinking

Yes that's my thinking

If it's anything like the 'lindop' sr180 device the boost adjustment I think is on the conservative side.

Ah might not be worth it then

I think you misunderstood - I meant the bluespark device does not add much boost so the digibooster could supplement it.

Well I thought this and then you said conservative and I thought maybe it might wind it back I know the bluespark chip taps into a couple of things but it's mainly fuel rail and injectors so with the chip might boost more .... But either way I will have to wait have some slightly more pressing issues than more modifications to the Auris

I thought the pro version plugged into the rail sensor and the map/ boost sensor

No that's an add on to the pro one which they didn't do for the Auris
