I Phone 5s - Bluetooth V Usb - Music Browsing Issue

Hi all; hope I'm posting in the right place...

Touch & Go...confused...!

Just got a new Auris Sports Tourer last week & the audio is confusing me a little; to the effect that I'm unsure as to whether there may be a fault with the 'touch & go' unit, or as I more likely suspect that it's a lack of understanding on my part.

When listening to my phones music via bluetooth I get no 'browse' function; it's there on the screen but doesn't respond to touch. The only option I seem to get is to listen to tunes in alphabetical order irrespective of artist / album. Plus only the 'arrow up' & 'arrow down' steering wheel button scroll options work but not in a uniformly understandable way. I think that pressing down just restarts the track I'm listening to whereas the up option changes to the next alphabetical track.

When I connect the phone via usb, (only the genuine Apple usb cable gives me this option; eBay sourced copy cables don't), I get the 'browse' option & with a bit of practice I can listen to music by album / artist in a more conventional way.

I considered it may be some sort of registering issue & tried unsuccessfully to register as it wouldn't recognise my Variant Code!

Where am I going wrong? Am I going wrong or could there be a fault?

Any help would be most appreciated,

Thanking in advance,

Regards,

Al.

Pressing the back button will return to the start of the current track, but pressing again should play the previous track. I'd need to try mine but I'm pretty sure you can't fully control the playlists and browse for tracks when connected by bluetooth. You can set it up to do shuffle etc by using your phone handset tho.

I use an old iPod permanently connected in the car, it gives you full control plus there's much less delay on playback when you stop the engine etc.

The bluetooth playing of music can be quite delayed, change tracks and it can be a second or two before the track starts up, you then find yourself pressing play again only to find you jump two tracks

just to be pedantic you have Touch 2/Touch 2 with Go rather than Touch & Go - there will be differences in behaviour/capabilities so you want to be sure that you get the right answers for your system & not the older one.

Also, compatibility may vary with phone model.
