Hi all, long time no post.

Okay both my key fob batteries have just about had it so my question is in three parts.

1) I need to double check this Battery on eBay is the correct one, one of the fobs has this in - Panasonic CR1632 3V

2) When I change the Battery do I need to do anything to pair it with the car or will it just work?

3) Currently having to use the small key to open the door, but it sets the alarm off (god it's loud) any reason why this would happen?

Thanks in advance

Dave

Hi Dave, the important No is the one you quote and is the same what ever the make of Battery

Just a straight swap and away you go

Not sure what it is you call the small key but the alarm is switched on and off by the buttons as you know.

Do you have the keyless system? I ask because you mention "the small key" & the keyless system has a little key concealed in the fob.

In any event, if you have opened the car without de-activating the alrm first then the alarm will go off; you can only switch it off by either turning on the ignition or pressing the relevant button on the fob.

HI DAVEXT5

1) CORRECT Battery no.

2) Just change Battery and that is it.

3) That's whats meant to happen.I had the same trouble

and went to toyota and they said this happens with all

keyless entries not just toyota. so until you fit the

Battery just use the small key for locking. Every thing

should be ok when you change the battery. Jock

Okay, thanks for all replies - Battery arrived and fitted and all good.

Find it strange that the little key inside the fob is basically a waste of time and space, but as never heard my alarm go off before I must say its !Removed! load :-)

Hi ,the small key does a couple of things

1) Obviously, to lock and unlock doors

2) is to put valuables in glove compartment and locking

when leaving the car unattended say at a garage for a

service or repair and just leaving the fob with the mechanic and

the key goes with you. Jock
