Is This Safe? Bicycle Carrier.

Hello,

I'd really like to transport bikes on my 2013 Aygo Fire, my dad has a bike carrier which mounts on the boot of his Nissan Note but his isn't glass like mine.

There will be two bikes, total weight about 28KG. (the bike carrier is rated for 30kg)

(I realise that in the pictures I did not mount the bottom straps that attach to the chassis, I just wanted to quickly pop it on for some pics.)

If this is unsafe, what are my options?

Hello jack - welcome to Toyota Owners Club.

Would gave thought you would be better either having roof mounted carriers or something like this Westfalia, which doesn't rest on the tailgate:
