Hello everyone,

I recently bought a Full option Avensis from 2008 the new model.

Now however I like everything about the car the only thing I would like to upgrade is the Radio/nav system. Which is a bit outdated in my opinion.
I would like to replace it with an android unit will I be able to fit a universal din2 in there ?

I had something like the following in mind:
http://www.autopumpkin.co.uk/car-dvd-player/operating-system/android-4-4-car-dvd/pumpkin-car-stereo-6-2-inch-pure-android-4-4-two-din-universal-dvd-player-radio-head-unit-gps-navigation-with-lcd-hd-capacitive-touch-screen-3g-wifi-support-obd2.html?___SID=U

Thank you in advance

English is not my primary language so excuse me for any mistakes!

Greetings Giaconito!

What do you think of the home made set up of the following? http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/169589-android-tablet-as-a-car-stereo-gps-installed-in-toyota-avensis-t25-nexus-7-powered-by-sla/

Yes, more work is needed to fit a tablet.

I must admit that the Pumpkin Plug and Play looks good. Also look at the Eonon: http://www.eonon.co.uk/

It shows how flexible Android is and it is not restricted to phones/tablets/laptops.

Not a fan of Apple, but if they made a similar system, no doubt they would make it better than the Android, or claim to. Plus it would cost at least double!

I just found out about Apple CarPlay: http://www.apple.com/uk/ios/carplay/

They have been doing it for a while, but not a follower of Apple was never aware.

Yes it is possible. Fitted an android unit to my t27 estate, best thing I have done, makes commuting so much better, plus sat nav is excellent
