Sport Button. To Sport Or Not To Sport

Hello everyone.

Firstly I want to start with an apology because I am not sure if this has been discussed or if this is the correct place to place my question.

So I want to ask what is the difference in "Sport?" What does that button change except the light on the dash board? It is my first car with a sport button and I am not sure what it does.

Together with a friend we argued that it makes the car shift later, if you want to have a kick out of it. But I only felt changes in the noise the engine makes when I tried it. I guess it somehow changes the formula in the motor?

Can you explain?

Best regards

Sport mode sharpens up the throttle pedal response, makes the car feel livelier

Not sure whether it is fitted to a manual gearbox version or not but on the CVT box version it makes a huge difference if you want to get off the mark or overtake quickly. It gives a better throttle response and holds the gear longer before changing up.
