Mk1 Fuel Gauge

Some years ago the car developed something odd.. Full tank, all lines on the fuel gauge are on so it's not a bad bulb/led whatever. But it skips from 1 used to 3 used. Maybe fuel sender? Car has 160k miles and counting..
