Parking sensors continuously bleeping

Hi anyone else experience problems with the parking sensors?

My 2012 2.2 D-4D T Spirit Nav parking sensors continuously bleep when reverse is selected and it seems to happens intermittently after rain or the car has been washed. I've cleaned the sensors when it happens but it doesn't clear the fault. Leaving the car for a day or so, (possibly to dry out) and the fault clears. Is there somewhere I can check for water ingress before I get Toyota to check it out?

I take it will be covered by the warranty, but the problem I can see is that it will be OK when its booked in for a check and also I’ve read on the Aygo forum of someone was being told of it not being covered.

My 08 had similar issue, turned out it was a corroded wire. So in your case being a newer car I'd expect it to be a lose connection or possibly a corroded connection as it's being intermittent and only when water is involved (as you've sussed).

Mine was only sorted by dropping the rear bumper and exposing the wiring there.

Thanks for that supervast650 .

Its ironic that since posting this problem, its never reoccurred, despite all the rain we've had.

I will mention it on my next service, which will be the last before the warranty expires, and I'll ask them to check out the sensor wiring, and if it occurs after the warranty expires, maybe Toyota will show sympathy.
