Traction control

I have 2004 plate t spirit and traction control starts operating when going round tight left hand bends. I don't think that it is due to speed or road conditions I suspect some sensor problem. I don't know exactly how traction control or vehicle stability work and have no idea which wheel I should be looking at. Any suggestions or tests I could carry out to identify the problem would be appreciated.

what condition are your tyres in? are they cheap & cheerful ditchfinders or reasonable brands?

I replaced the rear tyres with cheap brand shortly before problem started as hope to buy another car soon. The problem seems to be getting worse. Is this likely to be the problem

it could be part of it but I would have thought more likely on front (i.e. driven) wheels.

The wheel/tyres must be of the same size and diameter. Check the tyres and make sure they are the same size all round. You could be surprised to find one tyre of a different size. The tyre pressures could also affect the traction control.

The yaw sensor may have gone out of adjustment.

Let's hope it is nothing serious.

Try swapping your front wheels to the rear to see if that changes things.  I once suffered with a spinning Rover because the tyres on the rear were rubbish.  Appearance, tread, pressures were all fine but they just didn't grip and after spinning on a roundabout in front of a couple of cars I thought it was time to change them.

I had a seat Leon fr550 diesel a few years back with a remap and just before I got rid I put cheap tyres on it and I had exactly the same problem
