Pollen filter orientation?

Changed my pollen filter, but wasn't paying attention to which way up the filter was when I removed it

New filter went in easy enough, but do these filters only slide in one way, or could I have inserted it the wrong way up?

there will be an arrowe on the filter showing which way it should be fitted

There's no arrow on the old filter, but it does look like it is shaped to fit one way only. I just wondered if anyone had a definitive answer on this.

Nope, the only marking in the recess is a serial number and the manufacturer's mark 'Valeo'. There's zero arrows or markings elsewhere to indicate orientation.

if its white on both sides of the filter then maybe it can go in either way round, some filters

are black on 1 side and they have arrowe's showing the direction of flow.

In the owner's manual, there is no reference to whether the filter needs to be a particular way up, and no reference to any arrows.

Having fitted one myself in the past the cutouts on one side of the panel allow it to curve as it goes back in ..so suspect it only goes in one way .

Just for other member's information and to bring closure to this thread, I e-mailed the company I bought the pollen filter from and received this reply:

Hi,

This filter can only be fitted one way, so you should be fine.

Regards

Kind regards
