Has it stuck or has the window isolation button on the driver's door been depressed?

On most Toyotas, near to the switches on the driver's door armrest that operate the electric windows, is also a button. The graphic on the button looks like a typical car door window, but with an 'X' through it. This button if depressed (and one can depress the button without realising), isolates the switches that operate the passenger windows and effectively locks the passenger windows closed.

I too had this problem within a short time of getting the car. Whilst allowing steam to escape from my ears, I found the switch, pressing it hopefully... and very relieved when it solved the problem. I do like that facility, although, my wife doesn't as sometimes I press it so she can't open her window and soon enough I get that look, 'Want to continue breathing, press dat button!'

I'd stripped out the entire drivers door on my 91 corolla gti, before I found that button, what a great way to spend an afternoon.

Hi I have read a lot about this topic and every body seems to suggest cutting the steel cable. Now if the regulator is good and you only need to clean the armature. I opened the four screws institute and removed the cover and took out the worm gear and the whole window came down. But be patient the four screws are a little bit finicky to undo. but it can be done. By the guys this is on Toyota Aygo 2008 MK1 where the switches were not faulty.
