HI there

I have a 2005 1.4 litre diesel d4d t3 model hatchback corolla

I am looking to change the original standard radio (double din) as it is, is a cd player and a radio... I was looking at multimedia radios again would have to be double din... was wondering what'd fit into it? Or has anyone done the likes before and could recommend me a brand and model?

Cheers

Kenneth

Hi, Doesn't have to be a double din as you can get a fascia adapter to make it look factory on a single din unit. That has multimedia/usb functions. These are much more common. Check out local Halfords as they have them on display. What do you want to use it for? If video then yes go for a double din otherwise it's personal taste. I use either pioneer or alpine. cheers

Also look at places like this link who show lots of adapters, because toyota wiring its not compatible with aftermarket head units.

You will need wiring adapters for the head unit and steering wheel controls etc

As said  you can go to single or double din by using the appropriate housing.

Replacing the front Speakers also gives a great sound improvement, as I did.

Probably worthwhile getting a combined DAB and FM  these days and one that can readily interface with your phones.

If you search this forum you will find some pics of such upgrade and also look in the Audio forum, which is easy to miss.
