reflections off the dashboard inserts

we have a 13 plate auris Hybrid and the dash board has bluey tinted panels around the air vents with a brushed metal effect

when you sit in the passenger seat on a sunny day the reflections are blinding so i've used a carbon fibre wrap on these panels

to help stop the reflections below are some pictures of the panels wrapped.

it took about 20 minutes to cover the panel,i used a panel wipe to remove any polishes

& warmed the panel with a hair dryer before applying ,as you apply the sheet use your fingers to

press the sheet down and to remove any bubbles, you will find at some point you have a fold

i.e. in the corners this is where you warm the sheet with a hair dryer and stretch the wrap & use your

finger to press it down.

for the air vent,i removed the air vent and applying hot air i pressed the wrap into the recess

once in the recess i cut a 40mm circle out of the wrap and continued to apply heat and shaped it until

i could roll the wrap over the lip to the rear of the panel.

total cost about £1.50

Toyota will do a foc replacement (with plain black) for the chrome air vent trims on a T27 Avensis that reflect in the wing mirrors - I wonder if they might do similar for Auris?
