dpf removal - emulator

hi, my name is Tobias, i come from a small country Slovenia, so please excuse me for possible bad english.

I own Toyota Avensis 2.2 d4d dcat, 130kw, 2007. Grey limo.

i'm having a common problem - dpf.

Bosch computer says the problem is called "p2002".

because i'm not on a highway every week, i'm full of dpf regenerations and low consumption, i will REMOVE THE DPF.

removing the dpf is not a problem at all. the problem is modifying an ECU. there is very expensive thing to do it.

i found on eBay an DPF EMULATOR. i'm looking at this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FAP-DPF-Emulator-for-TOYOTA-D4D-DCAT-CAN-BUS-Version-/111339626545?hash=item19ec5be031:g:E34AAOxygPtSzOtv&vxp=mtr

what do you think about it? is it safe for a car? do you have some experience?

i have a car in LIMP MODE, so basicly i cant drive. On service they said my dpf is too full, the regeneration is not possible.

thank you for your answers, best regards

Welcome! nice motor! looks interesting but have not seen this solution before. It may be a problem here with MOT (DPF removal/bypass) as it looks like pretty soon new regulations will come in to stop DPF's being modified! I have read on other forums.

Keep us posted to how you get on if you fit one. Like the wheels, what size are they?

MOT is my last concern, in Slovenia they are miles away from test like this.

i've heard i have to install a  special damping "blend" to maintain adequate Stagnation pressure in the exhaust system, which turbo charger allows for proper operation and prevent damage due to spinning rotor occur if the filter is clogged.  Instead of filter we have to install blend metal catalyst which serves to create a back pressure turbine. is this true?

i have original 17" with 215-50-17 tyres

I have looked at this topic on the web and personally think, this subject may not be answered in the UK, due to the rules and regulations, and legality.

 http://garagewire.co.uk/news/mot-changes-to-be-introduced-in-may-following-dpf-investigation/

 http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-news/consumer-news/95410/thousands-of-uk-motorists-removing-diesel-particulate-filters

Read the readers views on both the articles.

The Government and politician who are not experts, make ruling decisions on the guidance of so called experts. No car is clean but focusing on CO emissions is the problem. Now they are looking at NoX and particulates.
I have read somewhere that the DPF is supposed to capture larger particulates but let through smaller particles, but these smaller particulates can eventually get into the bloodstream, because lungs cannot filter these finer particles!

The MOT smoke has not changed much and the DPF inspection is only that - to see if it present. The cannister could be gutted and look like it has never been touched, but the DPF does not affect the actual emissions. But some have been caught according to this news piece from BBC - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-41761864

I found this from an exhaust company based in Slovenia - http://en.auspuh-novak.com/?page_id=21
