Question about clutch

Hi All

I recently got my first Toyota, 2009 Auris, and so far I am enjoying driving it.

I do have a query though. Previously I was driving a VW Fox which had a very light clutch. In the Auris I am noticing that the clutch is noticeably heavier, certainly heavier than other cars I have drove, and does have the biting point much lower. Not causing me any real issues, but I was wondering if this is normal for an Auris?

Hello Graham - welcome to Toyota Owners Club.

The clutch in our 2009 and our current Auris, is heavier than the clutches in our most recent second cars - 2012 Hyundai i20 and 2015 Hyundai i20.

This is definitely normal, I test drove a few Auris' before buying mine and all had a heavy clutch. Takes getting used but you'll have a strong leg in no time!
