Hello,

I need to get a new Battery for my Toyota Carina E estate. It is a 1993, 2.0 petrol model.

The Battery currently in it is not really tall enoughl and I have had to pad it out with a piece of wood. Now it is dying.

Could anybody please tell me what size Battery I should be looking for, or even a specific one?

Any advice would be gratefully received ;o)

Thank you!

Hello - welcome to Toyota Owned Club.

Try sending Parts-King a personal message (using TOC's personal messenger), give details of your car (reg no as a minimum), and what you want

Places like eurocarparts have drop-down boxes to choose your car.  For example they list an Exide battery at (L x W x H) 200mm x 173mm x 222mm, or a Lion one at 230mm x 173mm x 222mm etc.  Based on that particular search it seems your Battery should be 173mm wide and 222mm tall, and can be at least 230mm long - personally I'd measure my Battery space to confirm this.  Buying a Battery with more Amp Hours (Ah) and Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) means more oomph on cold starts.  Also beware batteries have different fitment methods (some with a bar over the top, or clamped at the base etc), and the terminals can be at opposite ends, or have square posts or round posts.  Check before you buy.
