rattling noise from engine air filter housing

Dear all,

I've recently bought the Corolla

After driving for a couple of hours I noticed that the a noise was coming from the air filter housing when the engine would be revving at 1400 RPM. I'll be taking the car into service next week (180,000km service) and so the intermediate solution I've found is to loosen the spring fasteners. Noise has mostly gone. Anybody ever had this type of problem?

Not heard of it, makes me wonder if there is a filter inside ?  if its missing that could allow it to rattle as the lid is typically pressing on the filter edges.

Hi, I think I've pinpointed the cause. The tube feeding the air filter that passes underneath the Battery is not well secured and will rattle against metallic parts when the engine goes through 1400 rpm and oscillates a bit more.
