Fuel tank sloshing?

So recently I've had the back seats folded down to move stuff and I've kept them down - in the week i don't usually have passengers. But for some reason with the back seats down I can hear fluid sloshing about near the back which i can only assume is the fuel tank, is that normal? usually with the seats up I can't hear it at all do the seats really make that much noise insulation?

If you consider the seat backs have a couple of inches of foam thickness, then they will add to noise suppression.

If you fill up the tank, the diesel will not slosh around :-)

Our boot has an old blanket laid down to protect it from spills/shopping etc.. don't hear anything when seats are down...

I have the same sound, as far as i'm aware there is absolutely no issue with this and it tends to happen when the tank is emptier. it is quite a scary sound at first but i was reassured this is normal! my car has no creaks so it may be highlighted a bit more like yours.

hope this helps to reassure you!
