Hello

I am new to owning Toyota and I have just bought a 2009-10 Estima Import which has a Japanese sat nav/ dvd player. it does not have any language options (used google translate camera) and is only in local market language.  I want to change it out for a new one but i can not get the unit out as it has a bolt that i do not recognise. i have searched the internet and the only thing that looks similar is a toyota Yaris locking nut, but that is not quite the same.

I too want to do exactly the same and probably have the same head unit as you. I need to get the bezel off to access those odd looking screws that remind me of a locking wheel nut if you know what i mean.

I suspect they are some special tamper proof type and maybe a car audio specialist sells the appropriate tool. I am now going to Google this to see what it comes up with.

Do these screws hold the entire unit in place or do they hold a DIN type frame to the facia as i can't clearly tell from the photo.

I've got the same issue. Can somebody advise where I can get a tool or a screw driver to remove this security screw?

Sorry i am new and going through old forum topic.

For future reference, they are pin torx security screws. You can get heads easely on the usual tools sites.

It is not a torx pin - torx is pointed this has 6 Lobes or 3 doubles - its some odd ball JIS bolt and they are hardened

Edit. it's a 6 lobe with a security centre that should be removable
