Hi.

I turned the halogen yellow door light to the red LED.

what is needed?

1-5630 strip led

2- 1k ohm resistance

3-hot glue,

4- solder gun

You have to be careful when using the strip LEDs in the car. Leder set for 12volts. When the vehicle starts up, 14.4 volts current and the LEDs are immediately distorted. To prevent this, either the 7812 diode should be used. Or the resistance of the LED must be changed with 1k ohm.

low cost, more light.

Awesome guide! However, will the car pass MOT with red lights?

Thanks. What do you mean 'mot'?

In the UK once vehicles reach three years of age, they have to undergo a compulsory annual inspection to determine whether they are roadworthy - MOT. Ireland has something similar.

I would doubt it would fail a mot for interior lights

I understand. Turkey is a similar situation in our country. Every 2 years 'Tuv' firm performs inspection. It does not make any difference. ie 'mot' compatible.

National Car Test - NCT. The NCT is conducted every 2 years for vehicles younger than 10 years and from their 10th anniversary onwards they must undergo an annual inspection.
