Touch Screen Failure 2012 Verso

Hi Folks

I've just posted this on the Verso forum, but maybe here is more appropriate. Admins, please delete whichever you feel is unnecessary.

The touch screen on my 2012 Verso has stopped working. Outer buttons seem to work intermitently!

I've googled all weekend without much success. I can't find a way to do a reboot which sometimes seems to be an option to cure the problem. I took the fuse out overnight, which appeared to do a reboot, but the fault continues.

I've seen some scary prices from Toyota for a replacement, the head unit is a 59026 model.

Does anyone have any experience of a fix for this? Can they be repaired or do I need a replacement? Been looking at off the shelf head units online. I would like to keep all the original functionality and use of the steering wheel buttons if possible. Does anyone have a recommendation of a good replacement unit and/or a Midlands based company that can install?

Lots of questions from a newbie and a first post. Appreciate any help or feedback.

5 years, 80,000 miles and this is the first issue with the car.

Alan

I take it that you are now outside the 5 year warranty? You could ask for a contribution/goodwill.

You might at least try - don't ask, don't get. It might well be cheaper to buy a s/h unit though.
