My wifes yaris ( old model) started to hesitate or judder a bit when pressing on the accelerator.

I think i want to clean the MAF sensor first,  but i dont know which one it is, as there are two

'sensors' either side of the intake housing. any ideas or diagram ?

The air filter is directly in at the front and comes off with two clips

Instead of just cleaning the MAF sensor, why not clean the whole intake system too. Wynn's petrol EGR cleaner cleans the whole lot, without resorting to dismantling anything. Just sprays into the air intake with the engine running.

i dont belive that could work very well.

I am pleased to say i have fixed it!  this is what i did.

I identified the maf sensor by looking at google pics of maf sensors,  its the one on the left of the airbox.images.jpg.d5d32efba7f8ebf9fb61e667da03a365.jpg

I removed it carefully by first removing the two bolts that hold the cable/cam that get in the way of removal.

then the maf has two screws, carefull not to drop em, use magnetic bits,  it comes out easy.

GENTLY cleaned the sensor wires and blob with a cotton bud soaked in ISOPROPYL alcohol.

careful not to leave any cotton fibres on it.

i let it dry and assisted by blowing it.

put it back in, and now no hesitation or jerking on acceleration. :))

hope it helps someone, as i had great trouble finding the info
