Cambelt replacement

First post for me. Hope I use the correct etiquette!

Just bought a beautiful Rav 4 for my wife ( and for me at times!). In excellent condition even though it is a 2000 model with 125,000 miles on the clock.  New cambelt fixed at 85000. When is the next one due?

Hello Lestyn,

Check out this thread; "Broken Camshaft" by demek. (Removed Link because it did not work well)

I believe 60,000 mile interval was mentioned by the op, but that is for a 1999 RAV4. I have so far not found anything in my workshop manuals (2000 - 2005) to verify that, but that is not to say it is incorrect. Someone here might be able to be more helpful.

I am currently still trying to sort through and organise a mass of PDF files that constitute my recently purchased RAV4 Factory Manuals and will be looking out for the information.

Nwuvic.

Be aware tming belts are normally due to be changed by a certain age too, ie whichever comes first... x-amount of miles or x-amount of years.
