Hi Guys,

Newbie here :)

I've just changed the standard stereo in my Aygo for an aftermarket one, the car has satnav fitted but obviously now dosen't work. I think all I need is 5v to give it power? I'm not concerned about the voice coming out the Speakers etc.

Any ideas where I can get 5v from? the back of the stereo dosen't have a USB port :(

Thanks

Dave

If you're comfortable with electronics, wiring and soldering, try a buck regulator fed off the cigarette socket 12v supply. I think the wiring at the rear should be easily accessible. Just trim the buck regulator to 5 volts and that's your satnav feed.

Thanks for that, I did buy a buck converter in the end.

Couple of questions, The sat nav used to get its power from the stereo, is 12v send out the stereo to the sat nav?

And do you know the plus and negative cable colours? or i'm gonna have to bust out the multi media and get the old stereo back in lol

Thanks
