BMW 2.0 diesel loud noise.

Yesterday morning immediately after starting it made a very loud noise sounding like a dry seized bearing the noise coming from the drive belt area, (not a belt slipping noise definitely metallic), it stopped after around 40 seconds and became normal again. The dealer is telling me it was a fuel issue and a software update has been done.

Is it just me or is anyone else sceptical?.

I just realized my error here, the car is a 2015 Avensis with the BMW engine.
