Rav 4 2014 - which engine to pick?

Hi, I'm thinking of getting a 2014 Rav 4. Don' know if I should go for 2.0 petrol or diesel.  What matters to me is reliability. Which of these two is more reliable?  Any issues with the timing system? Broken engine blocks?  Broken crankshaft bearings?

In general, the anti-pollution measures applied to diesels contributes to unreliability to a far greater extent then the petrol engines.  I would avoid diesel.
