chris09QP 0
Hi guys, having enjoyed 10 years hassle free motoring, my avensis now needs rear brake pipes and failed MOT due to this. I am reading horror stories of removing the fuel tank to access the routing, does anyone know if this is the case and or give a ball park for how much this job could be. I know that the pipes are relatively cheap but labor seems to be the subject of debate.

Faz778 5
My Avensis failed its MOT for this same issue a couple of years ago. The pipes are steel, covered with a plastic coating, except where they connect to the rear brakes where they've got no coating. It's a surprisingly stupid design for a Toyota. My local garage replaced the pipes with copper ones for £200 all in.
Owdjockey 23
Hi Chris I suspect it is the same exposed area as what ultimately did for my 54 plate D4D. See my post from last year.
