New Auris Delivery Times

Hi guys, just to let you know I’ve ordered a Auris 1.2CVT in black. I tried the HSD which was nice but the 1.2 suited me better.

Been told I’ve got to wait 5 weeks for delivery which seems a long time considering the vehicle is already built? Does it always take this long? I thought it takes around two weeks or am I just being inpatient?

I ordered my auris icon+ in mid Jan 2015 picked it up on the 7th march, although I did want to wait for the new reg, so if you are waiting for an 18 reg that is probably why

Thanks for your reply. Wasn’t really bothered about having a 18 plate but I suppose it’ll be nice.

Depending how successful Toyota's scrappage scheme is, and it has now been extended to 31st March, this may increase delivery times.

Bought a 1.2 cvt in 2016. Had to wait 8 weeks as car was shipped in from abroad, because it was late on delivery and when I enquired about it they said it was still at the docks.

I thought the Auris was assembled in the UK?

The first generation Auris 3 door was manufactured in Turkey and the 5 door in the UK. The second generation Auris is manufactured in the UK. Burnaston was named as the European centre for Auris production, and Arifiye (Turkey) the centre for Corolla (saloon) production.

I understand the engines for Auris are assembled in Deeside, North Wales not too far from Chester and the car assembled in Derbyshire (or Nottinghamshire)

As far as I'm aware, the 1.33, and 1.8 petrol engines and the 1.8 hybrid engines are produced at Deeside, Flintshire. Engines and machined components are also exported to other Toyota manufacturing facilities.

Burnaston is in Derbyshire and produces the Auris and the Avensis - although Avensis production finishes this month (February 2018).

I think the Auris 1.2t was first manufactured and released in Japan. The 1.2t 8NR-FTS engine being manufactured in Japan

The 1.2T was a direct replacement for the 1.6, and was launched as part of the Auris's mid-life facelift in 2015. As far as I'm aware European market Auris are all built at Burnaston.

Would have thought that all Toyotas for the UK market would go through the same distribution centre, which may be near to the docks as this would be convenient for those vehicles which are imported.

Good point FROSTYBALLS. Have checked the VIN which confirms the car was built in the UK.

Thanks for all of your replies. It’s interesting to hear about Auris delivery times that people have experienced.

Please let us know how you like the car, when you to know it as a daily driver.

I think you made a good choice over the hybrid.

Hi Niels,

I have both a Auris mk 2 1.8 hybrid Excel 2013 and a Auris mk 2 facelift 1.2t cvt TSS Excel 2016 and enjoy driving both for different reasons. Pro hybrid for local short journeys in plus 10 degree climate, but 1.2t at all other times. The wife uses the hybrid for most local use. The reason I bought the 1.2T rather than a new hybrid was the difference in cost at the time of purchase which was about £3000 which is a lot of petrol and my calculations (based on 60&40 mpg respectively)  show that I would have to drive 65000 miles to recover the additional cost, about 7 years for me. Will probably change again before then.
