I am a little puzzelled! I have been told neither needs renewing; only checked & topped up at service intervals.

Given that, is there any point to renew these fuilds?

Power steering fluid has no scheduled replacement point. The clutch fluid is fed from the brake fluid reservoir these should both be bled, replaced every 24 months.
