Brake Fluid & Coolant Capacity

Looking at replacing the brake fluid and coolant on my Auris 1.6 Valvematic?

Can anyone please tell me how many litres  I will need?

Also, are there specific Toyota recommended fluids or will general ones available from most parts shops do.

Thank You.

The coolant doesn't need replacing until 10 years/100,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

Thanks for the quick response FrostyBalls.

Car is currently 8 years old / 62000 miles. I usually change fluids all fluids when I buy a second-hand motor just as a precaution.

Copied from the owners manual - Coolant: 1ZR-FE1 engine 5.5 L (5.8 qt., 4.8 Imp. qt); 1ZR-FAE and 2ZR-FAE engines 5.6 L (5.9 qt., 4.9 Imp. qt)

Use either of the following: “Toyota Super Long Life Coolant” or similar high-quality ethylene glycol-based non-silicate, non-amine, non-nitrite, and non-borate coolant with long-life hybrid organic acid technology.

After the first coolant change, coolant should be replaced every 5 years/50,000 miles.

Cheers FrostyBalls.

Just browsed the Owners Manual and found the reference to coolant capacity - thanks.

There is a bit about using DOT4 brake fluid, but no mention of minimum amount or capacity.

Anyone ever replaced theirs and remember how many litres they used?

Thanks.
