Auris Icon 1.33 - 2015 - Hi could someone please help. I have no idea where the activation switch is for the front passenger airbag. I have looked on the passenger seat, but can't see it anywhere.

Could some kind person please put me in the right direction.

When you open the passenger door, it should be in the recess between the door and the car dashboard, like so

Thanks for that. But can't understand - have checked, it is already on. But on the dash it says it is not. Any idea why?

If the airbag is on, the light will show on the dashboard when the engine switch (ignition) is in the 'on' or 'ignition on' position, depending whether you have smart entry.

What do you understand by "But on the dash it says it is not" ?

Is there a warning light on or off?

No, there is a square which tells you which airbag is on permanently. The passenger side on the left doesn't show on.

This describes what should happen:

“PASSENGER AIR BAG” indicator

Vehicles without a smart entry & start system:

The “PASSENGER AIR BAG” and “ON” indicator light turns on when the airbag system is on, and after about 60 seconds they go off (only when the engine switch is in the “ON” position).

Vehicles with a smart entry & start system:

The “PASSENGER AIR BAG” and “ON” indicator light turns on when the airbag system is on, and after about 60 seconds they go off (only when the engine switch is in IGNITION ON mode).
