1NR-FE clutch

Apparently the 1NR-FE uses a concentric slave cylinder rather than a traditional release bearing - Does this still need to be changed when you replace the clutch? Usually when I get a clutch done I make sure they replace the release bearing but don't usually bother with the slave cylinder...

I would change it as a matter of routine. It would be a shame to need taking it all apart again if the slave cylinder fails at a later date.

Same idea with a cambelt change. Renew water pump (if driven by cambelt), idler pulley(s) tensioner while it's all adrift and accessible. Even if they all look to be fine.

Yeah, normally I would but they seem to be really expensive! I was hoping it's like the flywheel, i.e. doesn't need replacing for a much longer time!

The Toyota repair instruction for the clutch list the CSC and the feed pipe as non reusable

Thanks Dev; I was about to ask you and Kingo whether your garages normally replace them when they change clutches!

Oh well, there's a definitive answer rather than an opinion. The price probably reflects that it's made from pure platinum.

There are two or three versions of CSC, so you need to get the right one.
